For those of my customers and friends I want to share with you the unexpected turn my life has taken.
I have been diagnosed with Large Cell Neurodocrine Carcinoma. According to my Surgeon this is a rare new hybrid cancer, and I have found only a small amount of information on it, on the internet.
This all came about when I was working my 1 day a week job at the Post office as a rural route carrier. I was having chest pains that I simply thought were an anxiety attack, which sometimes my attacks manifest themselves with pains in my chest, or so I thought.
My advice, if you are have chest pains get it checked out.
Upon the emergency room visit a mass was found in my upper left lobe of my lung. Drs. thought it to be caught early and small 3 CM.
While in surgery it was discovered that it was larger then 3cm and the cancer was wrapped around my aorta artery and a supposed 3 hour surgery turned into a 9.5 hours with the end result of my left lung being removed.
Now I am headed to Dana Farber this week.
As some of you know smoking is partly to blame as well as genetic DNA History according to my Dr. If you are smoking I would try to quit. Believe me I know exactly how hard it is to quit. I was a chain smoker at 2 packs a day and am sorry to say that it took something as desparate as this to make me quit.
I did it with Chantix and a nauseas pill and tried to stay clear of some of my friends that smoked.
Let me tell you first hand how hard it is to walk to the bathroom or to do a simple thing like showering. and be so out of breath that you are really frightened your not going to catch your breath.
I am writing this blog in sincere hope that it may help at least one person to quit smoking.
If you have quit smoking because of my blog please let me know, I would like to send you a small reward for doing the hardest thing that you may ever have to do in your life.
Feel free to posts comments. If you know someone also struggling with this cancer please let me know.
I will posts more when I know more.
